Thuy Fontelera, S.E., LEED AP
A passionate entrepreneur and seasoned professional engineer with two decades of experience in structural engineering. Thuy Fontelera founded ESE in 2011, and quickly achieved becoming a Certified Women and Minority-Owned Structural Engineering Firm in the Bay Area.
Thuy takes great pride in her firm’s outstanding reputation and continued success.
Her fondness for architecture and its beauty cultivate her enthusiasm to provide the most cost-effective and efficient buildings possible.
Thuy is also walks the walk for the future of our industry.
She is involved in leadership programs that encourage future engineers such as SEAONC's SE3 Mentorship program, regular engagements as an Adviser in the local High Schools' ROP and STEM classes, advocating for future High School engineering programs, and coaching regional youth teams for the LEGO robotics League.
George Fontelera
As the co-founder of Element SE, George Fontelera is the heart of operations.
At Element SE, George is known as our "Jack of all Trades". His three decades of experience and extensive construction knowledge keep us at the top of our game. Not only is he our one-man I.T. department, but he also manages the CAD/Revit team, drawing production, and initial schematic design/layout of our projects.
He likes a good challenge and thrives on the opportunity to compete with larger firms. He takes pride in seeing projects that start out as a 2D drawing on paper come to life. Taking the newer engineers out for site visits is especially enjoyable for him. "In order to effectively apply their knowledge on paper, I think it is important for them to see these structural conditions with their own eyes in the field and understand what is going on."
